SERVER SECURITY
& HARDENING ASSESSMENT
Secure Your Servers. Strengthen Your Infrastructure.
Servers are foundational to business applications, databases, cloud workloads and internal infrastructure. Misconfigured services, excessive privileges, insecure remote administration, weak security policies and insufficient hardening can increase the risk of unauthorized access, exploitation and operational disruption.
Our Server Security & Hardening Assessment evaluates the security configuration of in-scope Windows, Linux/Unix and applicable server environments against defined security requirements and hardening expectations. The assessment focuses on identifying unnecessary services, excessive privileges, insecure administrative access, weak configurations and other server-level security weaknesses.
Key Security Challenges We Address
Insecure Server Configuration
Identify security-relevant configuration weaknesses across operating systems, services and server roles.
Excessive Privileges & Administrative Access
Review privileged accounts, local groups, sudo/root access, service accounts and administrative permissions.
Unrestricted Remote Administration
Assess security controls around RDP, SSH, WinRM and other remote administration mechanisms.
Unnecessary Services & Exposed Interfaces
Identify unnecessary services, daemons, listening interfaces and system components that increase the attack surface.
Patch & Vulnerability Management Gaps
Assess how server vulnerabilities are identified, prioritized and technically validated after remediation, where this module is included.
What we access
-
Windows Server security configuration
-
Linux/Unix server security
-
Server roles and security policies
-
SSH, RDP and WinRM
-
Root, sudo and privileged access
-
Local groups and privileged accounts
-
Services, daemons and scheduled tasks
-
Listening interfaces
-
Host-based firewall controls
-
TLS/SSL configuration where applicable
-
Certificates and cryptographic configuration
-
EDR/AV and logging/monitoring controls where applicable
-
Active Directory/domain-controller security controls
-
Patch and vulnerability-management practices where applicable
The assessment can also include technical validation of vulnerability remediation following patches or configuration changes, depending on the agreed scope.
Our Approach
1. Scope & Server Inventory
Identify operating systems, versions, server roles, environments and systems included in the assessment.
2. Configuration & Hardening Review
Review security policies, system configuration, services, privileged access, scheduled tasks and other applicable server controls.
3. Remote Access & Network Controls
Assess RDP, SSH, WinRM, host-based firewall controls and administrative access paths where applicable.
4. Security Control Validation
Technically validate identified configuration weaknesses and access-control conditions within the authorized scope.
5. Risk Assessment & Hardening Recommendations
