VULNERABILITY VALIDATION & REMEDIATION VERIFICATION
Don’t Just Close Findings. Verify That They Are Actually Fixed.
A vulnerability marked “remediated” is not necessarily a vulnerability that has been technically eliminated.
Our Vulnerability Validation & Remediation Verification service independently validates whether previously identified vulnerabilities have been effectively remediated. The service can work from findings generated through VAPT, vulnerability scanning, security assessments, audits, penetration tests or source-code reviews.
The validation focuses on reproducing the relevant technical condition, verifying the implemented remediation and documenting evidence of the resulting security state.
Key Security Challenges We Address
Unverified Remediation
Determine whether a reported vulnerability has actually been resolved rather than relying solely on remediation status.
Incomplete Fixes
Identify vulnerabilities that remain partially remediated or technically ineffective.
Regression Risk
Assess whether remediation changes introduced an alternate vulnerability or weakened another security control where regression testing is included.
Reopened & Residual Findings
Identify findings that remain open, require further remediation or require residual-risk/compensating-control assessment.
Lack of Technical Closure Evidence
Provide before/after validation evidence supporting the technical closure decision.
What we validate
Depending on the source finding, validation can cover:
Web application vulnerabilities
API vulnerabilities
Network/infrastructure findings
Server/OS vulnerabilities
Database findings
Cloud security findings
Mobile application findings
Thick-client findings
Configuration weaknesses
Authentication/authorization issues
Vulnerable software/package versions
Service exposure
Firewall/ACL changes
Access-control changes
Encryption/TLS changes
Security-configuration changes
Patch-based remediation
Service removal
Compensating controls
The source specifically defines validation modules across web applications, APIs, network/infrastructure, servers, databases, cloud and client applications.
Our Approach
1. Finding & Evidence Review
Review the original vulnerability report, scan result or assessment evidence and identify affected assets and technical conditions.
2. Remediation Analysis
Determine how the vulnerability was remediated—for example through patching, configuration hardening, service removal or access-control changes.
3. Technical Retesting
Reproduce the relevant vulnerability condition or affected security control to determine whether the original issue remains exploitable or technically present.
4. Regression & Residual-Risk Review
Where included in scope, perform limited regression validation and assess partially remediated or residual-risk conditions.
5. Closure & Verification Reporting
